About Our University

Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS) was established in the year 1986 by the Government of Andhra Pradesh to bring all the medical and health institutions under one umbrella. The University is named after the great leader and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Dr. Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao.

The University is located in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. We are dedicated to maintaining high standards in health science education and producing competent healthcare professionals.

Our campus spans over 50 acres with state-of-the-art infrastructure, including modern laboratories, well-equipped libraries, simulation centers, and advanced research facilities. Admissions 2024-25

Admissions to various programs are conducted through entrance examinations, merit-based selection, and counseling processes. Important dates, eligibility criteria, and application procedures are listed below.

Admission Process

Review the eligibility criteria for your desired program. For undergraduate programs (MBBS/BDS), candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English with minimum 50% marks (40% for reserved categories). For PG programs, candidates must possess the relevant undergraduate degree from a recognized institution.

Appear for the relevant entrance examination. For MBBS/BDS, NEET-UG score is mandatory. For postgraduate medical/dental courses, NEET-PG/NEET-MDS scores are required. For nursing, pharmacy, and paramedical programs, NTRUHS conducts its own entrance examination or considers state/national level test scores.

Submit the online application form through the NTRUHS admission portal during the application window. Upload required documents including mark sheets, caste certificate (if applicable), disability certificate (if applicable), and passport-size photograph. Pay the application fee online.

Participate in the centralized counseling process conducted by NTRUHS. Seat allotment is based on merit rank, category, choice filling, and seat availability. After seat allotment, candidates must report to the allotted college for document verification and fee payment within the stipulated time.

Examinations

NTRUHS conducts regular examinations for all affiliated colleges. The examination system is transparent, fair, and follows stringent quality standards to assess the knowledge and skills of students.

Examination Schedule

The University follows a biennial system with two main examinations each year:

  • Annual Examinations: Conducted in April-May for all professional courses
  • Supplementary Examinations: Conducted in October-November for failed/reappear candidates
  • Internal Assessments: Regular internal exams conducted by colleges throughout the academic year

Detailed date sheets are published on the University website 45 days before the commencement of examinations.

Results & Certificates

Results are declared within 45 days of the completion of examinations. Students can check their results online through the University portal using their roll number.

  • Provisional certificates are issued within 30 days of result declaration
  • Original degree certificates are issued during the annual convocation
  • Duplicate certificates can be obtained by applying through the University office
  • Migration certificates for students moving to other universities are issued on request
